Marialba Russo (Italy, 1947) is best known for her sensitive photographic studies of social ritual in southern Italy. The title of her latest work, Incantesimo, means a spell, or charm, and its images of waterways were made in Italy, France and Greece. For Russo, "a photographer confronts reality guided only by his or her imaginative world".
