Eric Emo (France, 1953) has created a series of fantastic tableaux using only himself and a mountain of crumpled and folded newspapers. "I began", he notes, " with the idea that each of us harbours his chimeras and demons, fears buried deep in personal or collective memory. Chimeras, monsters created by man in order to exorcise his own fears, can take on any shape, any corporeal reality. Buried in newspaper, I become my own monsters. What is the reality of reality?".
