TASOS KESIDIS (HELLAS) MICRO-LANDSCAPES MYLOS GALLERY The landscape, one of the themes which art has studied in most detail, is perhaps of greatest interest to us because it is such a paradoxically abstract concept. Just as the climate has an effect on languages, so the geographical location determines the factors by which we apply a reading to the landscape. In Micro-Landscapes, insignificant pieces of ground which are of no environmental interest (even to botanists) are transformed into landscapes which lack any intention of defining the concept of that term. Quite simply, they reveal the allure of the humbler components of the flora, devoid of any ambition to be "picturesque" and using a direct approach. The photographer borrows the angle of vision of the smaller rodents and reptiles in order to guide us through an environment in which light makes precious that which is insignificant and transforms the humble into the magnificent.
